FRESHWATER

THE WELSH DEE

Once our saltwater season comes to close, we turn our attention to the freshwater predators. The river Dee at Chester is our predominant stomping ground. The Welsh Dee, near on 70 miles long, offers the lure and fly angler a multitude of species to target. Rising in Snowdonia and travelling through breath-taking Welsh countryside it finally exits into the sea via the estuary, which is nestled between Wales and the Wirral Peninsula.

The Dee, in its middle to upper reaches, is particularly well renowned for salmon, seatrout and grayling and in its less streamy waters of the lower river, holds a healthy head of coarse fish and is a mecca for the serious pike and perch angler. We offer guided Pike/predator fishing to our members from both the boat and the bank. Sessions generally take place from October through to the start of the close season in March.

We also offer guided salmon fishing on the Dee’s middle to upper beats… please contact us for further information.

LLYN BRENIG
